Short of the Week: Fall Campfire
By Hope Runyan
This morning, as I was driving home from my dentist appointment, I looked out my car window and realized it happened —fall happened. Fall is here.
"Of course fall is here!" you might think. Technically, the first official day of fall was Sept. 22. But with southern weather alternating from hot to cold on any given day, I failed to realize that yep, it's here.
What I saw out of my window was magnificent. And of course, the most natural indication of fall — leaves. Enormous amounts of yellow, orange and red leaves filled the trees that lined the road on my way back home. All I could do was smile, because the best season of the year had finally arrived in Alabama.
In his short film "Fall Campfire," Ynon Lan captures the simplicity of this season. It depicts a campfire with flames composed of different leaves he picked up along the street. It's everything you want on a cool fall night.
Take a minute to watch this short and relax. Fall is here.
