With an “unflinching and veracious style of storytelling,” Ya’Ke Smith has been regarded as a “rising voice in independent cinema.”  Smith’s works have been met with praise at more than 80 festivals, including his short film “Katrina’s Son” which alone garnered 14 awards and was eligible for the 2012 Academy Award in short-film making. Not only will you get to view his widely acclaimed short films for free, you also will have the opportunity to ask him any questions you may have about film making!
